Manchester United crashes out of FA Cup
MANCHESTER: Sulley Muntari put in a penalty kick in the 78th minute to give Portsmouth its first victory at Old Trafford since 1957. The goal came after goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak was given a red card for tripping Milan Baros in the penalty area which forced Rio Ferdinand to try and stop the penalty kick.

Referee Martin Atkinson denied Manchester United a penalty in the first half when Cristiano Ronaldo was knocked down by Sylvain Distin. Alex Ferguson was outraged by the decision and made some very critical comments of Martin Atkinson after the match.

United had several great chances to tie the match. Distin blocked an attempt by Michael Carrick after he had beaten goalkeeper David James. Then Patrice Evra fired a shot that David James was able to stop brilliantly of the goalpost.

Manchester United was not able to convert their numerous chances throughout the match into goals. After this weekends results, Portsmouth is the only Premiership side remaining in the FA Cup.

So many chances, I’m so pissed off. Distin didn’t even look at the ball. He just looked at Ronaldo and checked him.

    Happy with Arsenal’s tie though.
