Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed he will remain at Manchester United for another season following showdown talks with manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Portuguese superstar, who has been a high-profile transfer target for Spanish giants Real Madrid this summer, said: ‘I will remain with Manchester United for at least another year.’

Cristiano Ronaldo is still recovering from foot surgery and is expected to sit out the first few Manchester United matches.
